This introductory course covers terminology, safety, points of sail, keelboat maneuvering & docking and sail trim. It includes both classroom and on the water instruction in a ballasted, fixed keel sailboat (not a dinghy). This class is structured for adults not interested in being in the water while sailing. Sailing is done both in Eagle Harbor and Puget Sound, dependent on wind conditions. This is a great way to learn to have fun while gaining the skills needed to take the boat out on your own.

In this class we’ll talk through the process including types of boats and options for ways to enjoy them. Additionally, we’ll outline the process of the purchasing and discuss the additional costs for moorage, insurance, and maintenance. Finally, we’ll go to the Seattle Boat Show to follow through on the discussions we’ve had in the class room.
